New York Fashion Week has come and gone, surprisingly without much more than one slip in the ice but, without a doubt, a few more notches in my fashion week experiences belt. It's so crazy to think that not more than 4 years ago, I was sitting in Texas in a classroom hoping to one day figure out something to do with my life... cut to this week and I'm sitting along side [mostly a few rows behind] some of the most influential people in the fashion world. Funny what a new day brings... especially while living in New York City.
One of my favorite moments - well days - of this week was experiencing MADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios on Sunday as part of an all access group of their Blogger Army. This day focused on menswear and the biggest designers who are shaping men's style and trends today. One of which, and my personal favorite, Public School had a double-first when debuting it's fall/winter 2014 line this season - a huge leap into women's design and also the first time producing a runway show. This was without a doubt one of the most anticipated shows which was only made clearer by the attendees including fashion powerhouses Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue, and Jenna Lyons, Creative Director of J. Crew just to name two.
The show of course did not disappoint. A collaboration of masculinity meets femininity created a line of androgynous pieces focusing on what they are known for most, outerwear. Keeping on tone, the designing duo threw into the mix, a line of unexpected but impeccably tailored suiting pieces for both men and women. Enjoy some of the images of some of my favorite pieces caught by Anthony Cabaero, Joe Marquez, and Chris Swainston. Big thank you to MADE Fashion Week for including me in a group of some of the most prominent online influencers from around the country... how is this my life!?
