Fashion Week is finally over and I somehow survived all the chaos and the bitter cold. Now, it's back to reality and getting back into the groove of the normal day to day errands, meetings, and planning the weeks ahead!

Keeping it pretty casual today as I trek around the city to get some errands out of the way before the weekend but staying on trend with the camel-brown hues I saw so much during New York Fashion Week and recently spoke of with this week's LOTW. These joggers from my friends at Express are perfect for todays tasks... super comfortable but have a perfectly tailored fit to keep from being too casual as I run in and out of meetings. First things first though... coffee!

Indigo Guide

I've been stuck in the blues this week... well with my wardrobe at least. It's funny how your surroundings influence your daily style and with the constant days of snowfall and bitter cold, I'll be frozen in color limbo until the sunny days ahead!

Probably just about the most common color in menswear, blue is integrated into just about every guys daily style. Luckily, now, the color comes in so many different hues, patterns, and now dyes. Indigo has been a huge trend and with it's growing popularity, brands like J. Crew are showing how to wear the stained goods. Having worked for the company's buying team on the men's shirts team I'm a little biased but the indigo shirting assortment speaks for itself!

I have just about all of the shirts from the indigo collection and can't wait for the chance to show more of them as the temperatures start to rise. As you can see from the collection, indigo is not just about dark blue dyed fabric anymore. Thankfully, so many retailers [like J. Crew] are selling these goods at an affordable price. So really, there's no reason for you not to jump on board with me. Just remember to wash your indigos separately!

Behind the Scenes with Gilded Age

Well, New York Fashion Week has come and gone for another season and I somehow survived it all... even the frigid temps! As busy as Fashion Week can be, for the menswear side, it's mostly over after only about four jam packed days of shows and presentations. This season, I had the chance to go behind the scenes with Gilded Age to see the grooming, dressing, and all of the last minute preparations that go into making for a great show.

Without a doubt, some of the best ready-to-wear pieces on the market, Gilded Age has some solid style in this Fall 2015 presentation. Everything from outerwear to tailored suiting to some pretty bad ass bags, Stefan Miljanic's Marlon Brando inspired collection definitely had my attention... seeing the pieces on the models just made it that much better!

All of the grooming was provided by Metro Look using Not Your Mothers grooming products giving a bit of a rocker edge matching the brands rugged, New York style. Now if only I could get my hair to do at least one of these styles!

Space Style

Every once in a while I get questions from you guys about my personal space style so I figured I'd give you all a glimpse into my habitat. I spend a lot of time in my bedroom and as small as New York apartments can be it takes a lot of time configuring and making it just right so you don't feel like you're squeezed into a tiny box... even though you really are! Trust me, New York isn't as glamorous as you might think.

I am an avid believer in your space reflecting your style so I enjoy styling my room just as much as I do my daily-wear. Keeping it pretty minimal, I always think the more neutral the better [as you can probably tell] and have just a few necessary extras - crisp, white sheets, duvet, and walls, fresh flowers, and lots of candles just in case I feel like getting all sappy and romantic.

As simple as I am in my home style, I'm definitely a lot more specific when it comes to getting cozy in my loungewear. Thankfully, my friends over at Isaora sent me the perfect lounge/active-wear to get my through my winter hibernation! Make sure you check out their collections for everything outer to active-wear. Now excuse me while I roll back into bed!

It's been a long time coming but it is finally official... Thanks to NMRKT, Trend Styled has officially launched it's first online shop. Cabin Fever

It's about this time of winter that I start to get cabin fever and start itching for some sun. Thankfully, the [sun] rays are on blast today so I took to Central Park for some fresh air! It might not have been warm but the sun on my skin was much needed and I knew it would probably be the last chance before more of the arctic blasts came through New York.

Today's look is casually layered with some of my favorite outerwear from the season. This Coach Duffel Coat is a no brainer and will be in my cold weather arsenal for years to come. It definitely has some weight on it and is one of those classic pieces that I know will be on trend every winter. For a little extra warmth, I under-layered my Express puffer jacket - the perfect amount of puffer for some inner layer. Stay warm friends!

Weekend Preparations

We're finally getting a glimpse of warm months to come here in New York City and I can not be more excited. I've been so tired of having to plan my days around the weather and convincing myself that the cold isn't too bad today. It might not be no-sock weather quite yet but my ankles were screaming for some fresh air!

It's finally the end of the week so today I'm doing my usual weekend preparation routine... iced coffee to start, finish up the last bit of email catch up, and join in on the group messages with friends convincing each other that tonight is going to be EPIC! Attempting to lose some of the layers, I'm keeping it light with this wool sweater from A.P.C. and beanie combo. Just enough warmth for the stroll out of my building and across the street to my favorite bodega for my morning coffee. Happy Friday friends!

Every Day Epic

Lately I've really been attempting to start my weeks on the right foot and stepping a little out of my bounds enjoying the most dreaded day of the week. As soon as Friday's hit, we simultaneously begin the countdown to Monday mornings and make every second of the weekend count... so why not do this for every day of the week?!

Today, I woke up a bit earlier than I usually would in order to hit up a coffee shop I recently discovered in my neighborhood of the Upper West Side. Discovery is just about my favorite thing about NYC - there's always something new to see, do, and discover no matter how long you've lived in your hood. It helps get you out of bed on even the laziest of days.

Speaking of discovery, I've been spending a lot of time on Tumblr as of recent discovering and being inspired by the endless images. My sudden urge in enjoying and making every day epic is thanks to the new Schick Hydro® Tumblr page which is made up of beautiful images documenting the best parts of life - adventure, passion, and fun! Make sure you give them a follow to put a little extra pep in your step and inspire you to make every day epic... and, of course, make sure you give me a follow too by clicking the buttons below!

LOTW: Beachside Vacation

$

As I begin to plan my next beach excursion, I can't help but already start packing my bags! This weeks'Look of the Week is exactly the kind of garb I'll be throwing in my luggage. Luckily, with some extra help from East Dane, it's going to be much easier finding the perfect beachside vacation looks!

With my next trip booked for Miami in April, I'm obsessing over these two South Beach inspired looks. Miami is one of those quick trips New Yorkers take to escape the frigid city during the winter. With less than a four hour trip door to door, it's super easy to pack a couple of outfits and hit the road air! These two looks are typical day looks when hitting this Miami scene... the left is perfect for happy hour at the bar and the right is the exact look I rock when out at the shops or lounging by the pool all day.

As I mentioned, East Dane is making it much easier to find the perfect beachside vacation looks... and here's how! From now until Sunday at 4:00 AM [NYC time], East Dane is having their BIG Spring Sale:

Use code BIGEVENT15 | Happy shopping!

Glimpse of Spring Style

Today is the first glimpse of spring in New York City! Just as I was losing all hope that it would ever warm up again - especially after yesterday's snow storm - a day like today happens. It might not be sunny but it's twice as warm as it has been... literally, the temperature is double the warmth than it was less than a week ago!

I don't know why but one of my favorite color combos for spring is black and white. There's just something about the harsh contrast between the colors that feels so sleek... plus you just can't go wrong in coordinating two basic colors. Thankfully, my friends over at French Connection got the message and hooked me up with this black Urban Rib Knitted Jumper - the perfect "it's ALMOST spring" layer. Super comfortable and just enough weight to keep me warm on a sans jacket day like today.

Now excuse me - busy day ahead. On the schedule: Hamburgers at NYC staple, Corner Bistro, for a greasy cheeseburger and fries. Like I said, very busy day. If you're a local or will be visiting this city soon, it is vital that you come here for lunch! You can thank me later.

Spring Style Staples

Well I think we finally made it! Birds are chirping, sun is out, and the snow is finally melting away from the streets. Spring is finally here! You might think New Yorkers complain way too much about winter but when we spend so much of our day walking the blocks, the least we want is to be able to make it to the office without soggy socks!

With bright days on the horizon, I'm in full on spring cleaning mode. With limited space in most New York City apartments, it's always a game of rotation when it comes to our clothes. It seems like wherever I can find space I'm storing things like jackets, sweaters, and shoes... mostly shoes! When it comes to a change in season, I start the game of rotating and storing pieces I won't be wearing due to heat or chill. There are some pieces that are a constant though... this French Connection jacket being one of them. It's the perfect winter coat when layered up or the perfect spring coat when layered down. It protects from any elements coming it's way and has just gotten better with wear.

What's some of your year round staples in your clothing arsenal? Comment below and let me know. I love hearing from you all!

LOTW: Rain Gear

I don't think I've ever been so excited for rain. With spring's official start just days away, I'm preparing for those few weeks between winter and spring where it is pretty much a torrential downpour in New York. It might be a wet mess but with as much snow and ice we've had over the last few weeks, it's fine by me! This week's Look of the Week is a glimpse of my current shopping list... which is all available in the Trend Shop of course!

My spring wardrobe always starts with a great raincoat, some killer waterproof boots, and a good umbrella investment... trust me, it's worth spending a little extra dough on a good looking umbrella that won't break in the wind! I always try to find a bag that is waxed like this Filson duffel pictured above. It's not technically waterproof but most of the water will bead off and protect whatever you have inside. Not to mention will start looking perfectly vintage after a few rainy days. Find this entire LOTW in the Trend Shop - Plus lots more cool swag! Happy shopping friends!

Modern Essentials

As I'm sure you've heard, David Beckham has once again collaborated with HM to give us a glimpse of his Modern Essentials and some super affordable style. Luckily, GQ Magazine had a massive preview event at the HM flagship store here in New York City which gave me a chance to preview the entire collection and, of course, to give it a wear-test so I can report back to all of you!

Made up of the essentials tailored-wear, this collection is anything but basic! HM has really stepped it up with this collaboration and, really, you can't expect anything else when collaborating with a men's style icon. As much as I wanted to buy the entire collection which was made up of linens, chinos, and accessories, I went for these perfectly tailored chinos and linen tee to start out. I was weary about the fit and feel but I kid you not, these are some of the best fitting chinos I've ever discovered... not to mention the perfect shade to add in some color to your transitioning winter to spring wardrobe. At less than forty bucks for the linen shirt and chino combo, you will be seeing much more of me in this collection!

Treat Yourself!

It's been a few months now that I've gone completely off the office grid and have been working on the blog full-time. As hard as it is to stay on a schedule when you work for yourself, I've done pretty well - even with lacking the ability to stay focused for too long. My solution to keeping on schedule: making Monday's count!

As I've said before, Monday's are usually the most dreaded day of the week so I've done everything I can to really making them count. I use this day to set my goals and schedule for the week and always make sure I do something fun for myself. Today's 'treat yourself' moment was hitting up one of my favorite spots in New York City - Momofuku Milk Bar, conveniently located across the street from my apartment. Definitely one of the best dessert bakery's in this city... make sure you get yourself an order of the b'day cake truffles and some soft serve if you visit one of their locations!

I do get some business done on Monday's but it's mostly just preparation for the busy week ahead. I set small, easy goals I can follow through for the week and tackle one at a time. With the weather finally transitioning I've set a goal to start wearing more color in my recent dark hued wardrobe. Thankfully, I discovered this insanely cool baseball jacket from Maison Kitsuné's latest spring collection! Not one to really step outside of my style boundaries, this piece was definitely pushing it but without a doubt worth taking a chance. Make sure you check out the entire Maison Kitsuné Spring/Summer 2015 colorful collection to get yourself prepped for warmer, sunny days ahead!

LOTW: Luck of the Irish

Not one to sport the full green look for St. Patricks day, we still like to find a way to get the color on in hopes of not getting pinched and of course to join in on all the fun... AKA drinking Irish beers and whiskeys during the day without judgement. Not that we don't love the color, just the thought of going full on drunk leprechaun freaks us out!

This week's Look of the Week shows just how we will be wearing green today. Keeping on one of our favorite spring trends, the black and white combo is perfect for adding in some greens without going completely overboard... trust us, a dab of green will do it! This Penfield Flores Pullover is a recent discovery we made on East Dane and is the perfect leafy iteration to the more common four leaf clover patterns you'll be seeing everywhere else. Plus you'll be able to wear it again, post-St. Patty's day! Now excuse us while we go out and get festive... Happy St. Patrick's Day friends!

Band of Players

I'm always on the prowl for the perfect sized carry-on while on the daily task of meetings and running errands with just enough space to organize the days necessities... iPhone, gum, keys, and any look-books I collect while visiting some of my favorite PR offices. The less I have to carry the better really. Especially when I know I'll have to tote everything all day rushing from train to train.

Enter, Band of Players. I was recently introduced to this urban heritage brand while visiting a friend at the NSA-International public relations office reviewing all the new pieces the office has to offer for spring. I instantly gravitated to the Band of Players corner when I saw this Drone Drivers Reversible Clutch! You can flip it back and forth, inside and out, depending on your needs for the day... either a smooth surface that I've found is great for using to jot down some notes or a pocket and handle exposed surface perfect for storing your gadgets. Whatever way you choose, this piece is perfect for the masculine focused guy trekking the urban jungle. Make sure you check out all Band of Players has to offer... the inventory of collections is extensive! [Also pictured here: Garrett Leight shades]

Quinoa Power Bowl

Once we leave our apartment in the morning, we never know if we'll have time to stop for lunch. When out the door the city is moving at a hundred miles an hour, so we like to take a few minutes to ourselves in the morning to scroll through social media, watch some CNN, and eat a healthy and delicious breakfast. To start off our health and fitness series, we wanted to share what helps to fuel us as we trek around the city from meeting to meeting.

When thinking breakfast, you probably don't think cooked quinoa - AKA the 'super grain!' Not surprisingly, quinoa is high in protein and is gluten free... not to mention keeps you feeling full longer than those fatty bagels! This brings us to one of our all time favorite breakfasts: our self proclaimed, Quinoa Power Bowl! Putting it together is quick, easy, and there is no right or wrong way of doing it. We love changing up the types of berries and flavor of yogurt, but this one is made with a mix of fresh berries, greek yogurt, almonds, and a few other powerful ingredients. If this breakfast combo doesn't get you excited to get out of bed, we don't know what will! If you like what you see here, just follow the short list of ingredients that we used below and enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 cup pre-cooked [the night before] red quinoa
1 teaspoon of Hemp Hearts
Almonds
Raspberries
Blackberries
Blueberries

I love when something as little as a new pair of glasses can completely boost your look. Kind of eyewear obsessed, I've been on the prowl for some new additions to my growing collection. It's the one thing I can convince myself to spend the big bucks on and really, I am convinced it's always my best investment!

This week, I discovered these beautiful spectacles from the latest spring collection of Venice based, Garrett Leight California Optical. At first glance I thought I could never pull off the look but after some convincing [AKA a great saleswoman], I made the leap and gave these Garrett Leight Harding glasses in matte black  a test-run. I'm hooked! Not only do I look a smarter, but these new additions give an instant style upgrade to any OOTD. Super modern, with a touch of European esthetic... and really, who doesn't want to be mistaken for European. Make sure you check out the entire Garrett Leight California Optical collection for yourself and upgrade your eyewear!

LOTW: #ChooseMyThailand

As I hinted about a few weeks ago, I have been planning my next beach excursion ever since we got back from our New Zealand, Australia, and Hawaii tour back in January... well all the planning has paid off and now we are just three weeks away from escaping New York City and traveling to Thailand with Tourism Authority of Thailand! I can't be more excited for the opportunity and, of course, to share another trip with all of you through the #WheredSaulGo travel series. Make sure you follow along on Instagram - @TrendStyled - to follow along for the entire ten day trip!

In the mean time, I've been prowling one of my favorite men's online retailers, East Dane, for the perfect tropical looks to pack and travel with abroad! If you know Thailand, it is super hot and humid for most of the year so I'll be packing light with plenty of shorts, lightweight shirts, and some comfortable shoes. It'll be all about bright colors and tropical prints... very touristy! So again, make sure you're following along for all the action, non-stop photos, and some shirtless, sweaty selfies... of course.
