A Morning with Rockport

Now that the temps are on the rise, the days just seem to get busier and busier. I always find myself packing my days trekking from lunch meetings to coffee breaks to events without having the chance to stop, so this week I'm putting a little more time into avoiding the subways and enjoying the city and this weather. While there's no avoiding the non-stop trek in a city of walkers, there are some simple steps I like to follow to make the days a little more enjoyable and comfortable.

First, it's all about the footwear. They don't call New York City the 'Concrete Jungle' for no reason so on busy days finding balance in style and comfort is key. I've been a fan of Rockport since first discovering them last season, so I was super excited to partner with the brand again to share some of my go-to styles for spring. These Harbor Point Slip Ons were my shoe of choice today. Made with Adiprene technology which is shock absorbent and a conforming footbed that molds to your feet, these guys easily gets my through my long days comfortably. Just as important though, all without losing any style points. Suede kicks are a huge trend that you just can't miss out on this spring so, for me, these were a no-brainer!

I planned my day to get the maximum amount of outside time as possible. While coffee is always a must, one of my favorite spots in the city is Oste Cafe in the East Village. Without a doubt some of the coolest tiled floors in the city [as you can see above] which helps make for some fun Insta posts. I had to peel myself from the beautiful marbled tables and head out for a day of meetings - which is always hard. Since most of my day is spent on the West Side, I always utilize the High-line while walking. You easily forget that you're in the middle of the hustle and bustle that is NYC so it's nice to have a little calm between meetings. Plus, there's some of the coolest architecture that's always nice to dream about owning along the way. After a quick lunch meeting - my go to lunch is any salad with seared tuna... so damn yummy! - I made my way through the Meatpacking District for a few quick meetings through some of my favorite cobble stoned streets.

Finding comfort is always key but the route you take helps to make it all that much more enjoyable. I couldn't imagine living in any other city at the moment. With so much to see and do, having it all so accessible by just walking really does help to appreciate a good pair of shoes. Make sure you check back tomorrow for part two of my day with Rockport shoes.
