So we may not all be boarding a plane heading to Coachella but that doesn't mean we can't spend our weekend Coachella-ed out! As amazing as it would be to be whisked off to the music festival this or next weekend, the weather has finally sprung so we can all at least dress like we are hitting up the music stages and festivities. At the very least, this is festival season no matter where you are located, so there's bound to be some great outdoor music playing somewhere... like my lawn chair and make shift barred rooftop this weekend! Here are a few basics to get you started for your weekend.
If you see me at some point during spring/summer, you'll more than likely me see me dressed in a mank [man-tank]. These are a must while trekking through the city during those warm, sunny days. Might as well look stylish while doing it. Yea you might be dripping in sweat but that's just more reason to throw on a mank while you're walking the city. I of course always have a couple changes of shirts in my duffle. Along with deodorant and cologne! Please do yourself a favor NYC fellas and do the same. No one wants to catch a whif while you are sardined into a train car. It's all about some bold prints with these bad boys. Don't be scared to cut up those old graphic tees either. I'm all about it! Manks are the perfect start to getting into the outdoor music festival vibes. Plus, more than likely, you'll be shirtless a few hours in due to the sweltering heat! Just tie that mank around your arm and turn it into a cool accessory.
Next up... some cool, vintage looking denim. Be it a denim jack or jeans, give your newly bought denim some good wear and tear to give it that cool vintage look. Take a little sandpaper and some scissors and scuff up that denim. If you're feeling really adventurous, cut up an old pair and turn them into some cool jorts [jean-shorts].
As for the kicks... just think canvas. You don't want to be wearing anything that weighs you down from getting crazy and dancing your butt off to some good tunes, but you also don't want to be that guy in flip-flops. Please, please, PLEASE stop wearing flip-flops in public no matter how great your feet look. Vans is a one stop shop for some bad ass canvas kicks. Step it up a bit and get some in a bold pattern like the ones above.
