L'Envol de Cartier

Lately I've been in search for the perfect fall fragrance to update my usual go-to. I always like to mix in a new scent every season, as every guy should, in order to revamp my style. Your scent, like your outfit, is one of the first things a person notices about you - in many cases, the very first thing - so you should definitely put some work into finding a great one that fits your style.

Thankfully, my friends over at Cartier sent me the newly launched L'Envol de Cartier which saved me some of the work. With a woody, masculine note, this will surely get the attention of everyone you pass. I've been wearing it for just about a week now and haven't made it a day without someone asking what I was wearing. Not to mention, the artfully designed bottle which is definitely the coolest bottle I've ever seen. Made up of a glass capsule inside a detachable glass dome, this beauty will be in my collection forever.

Want to try it for yourself? Head on over to the nearest Nordstrom where it's available now... or just take my word for it and order yourself a bottle now!

Shave Saver

No matter if you're a daily or once a week kind of shaver, every guy should invest in razors that will not only get the job done but also protect your face from any damage. If there's one thing not to skimp on, it's your razors... I mean, you're running a blade to your face so watch it! My usual go-to is probably what most guys use, but I'm always looking for a more affordable way to update my grooming game. With so many brands offering the necessity, it all came down to price and quality while I was on the prowl for the update.

Hitting up my neighborhood Walgreens, as usual, I discovered the stores own Studio 35® brand while looking to restock my grooming goods. Always the skeptic, I definitely inspected the design of the razors and compared them to my almost double in price go-to razor brand. With a three blade, lubricating gel system these babies glided with ease for the closest of shaves with no irritation. I was pleasantly surprised and now hooked! Don't believe me yet?... Hit up the brands Pinterest board for more inspiration and see how everyones taking advantage of the blades!

Just to make the Studio 35® razors even better, when you purchase online at Walgreens, you can sign up for the "Auto-Reorder and Save" program - a 10% savings on membership length of your choosing and, best of all, never running out of the essentials. For those in-store only kinda shoppers, Walgreens is doing a buy one Studio 35® disposable or system razor and get one 50% off for the month of August and a $9.99 special for the month of September. I gotchu! 🤑

P.S. Join me at the Studio 35® Twitter party by using hashtag #ShaveStudio35 on September 8th between 8 and 9 PM EST... We'll be giving away three prize packs that you'll definitely want to win!

Beach Garb

Beach vacations are all about relaxing, having some cocktails, and being comfortable. Last weeks trip to Cabo wasn't any different. While I spent most of the trip in a bathing suit and sunscreen, there were moments of exploration that I actually threw on some clothes for. Keeping it free and easy, I packed some of my favorite beach garb that kept me cool and comfy.

A tank doesn't have to be so casual. This Slim Topman Tank was a last minute grab right before I left for my trip - which I purchased in just about every color the brand had on the rack! Either paired down with your swimsuit, a pair of chinos, or some distressed denim like my current Tommy Hilfiger denim go-tos, you can go as casual as you'd like with the basic necessity.

A huge thank you to The Marquis Los Cabos for having me. Stay tuned for my recap later, but if you're looking for your next vacation spot... look no further than this luxury, all-inclusive resort!

We're on the cusp of fall which means one thing... sweater weather! I love this time of year when I get to dig out all my favorite knits and sweatshirts and layer on the softies but goodies. This guy is one of my favorites from last fall from ACNE Studios. It's always a no brainer when shopping the brand. No frills. Just some great elevated basics which is right up my style! Below are some of the best that have just launched for fall that I'll definitely be investing in this season... click through and get into some for yourself. Twinning!

Current obsession: This Fossil x Opening Ceremony Big Tic Analog-Digital Watch. With a modern, simple, and sleek monochromatic design, this guy is a daily-wear that compliments any style without all the flash. Don't get me wrong, it's still an attention grabber... just a lot more subtle than those chrome and metal pieces that can weigh you down. This guys just launched so scoop one up before it's gone!

The Essentials

If you're following my Instagram Stories [@trendstyled] then you might have seen a video I did last week announcing my new collaboration with East Dane... A menswear website that I use as a huge resource when shopping for some of my favorite brands and to find new ones. With a good mix of commercial and high fashion, there's something for everyone no matter your style, shape, or climate. With it being spring just about every day of the year here in Hollywood, I scooped up some solid essentials that I can wear on the daily.

My style is pretty universal and not too flash, so I started with some basics that I can wear just about all year round... without being too basic. A black tee is a daily go-to of mine but the fit has to be spot on to make it not look sloppy. Really who's going to get a black tee designed better than Calvin Klein Collection?! With some cool gold sleeve details and a fit that's on the slimmer side, this guy will easily update your basics game. It's definitely an investment but worth every penny!

I've been eyeing these DSquared2 Skinny Dan Jeans for a while now so it was a no brainer when shopping for some of the essentials. They have just the right amount of distressing - including frayed tapered cuffs, which is my favorite thing about them - and the perfect slim fit, so I was hooked as soon as I put them on. With all the cool details, not to mention the brand name, you don't need much else going on when styling them. Wear them on the daily!

I'll continue styling up some of my favorite East Dane grabs all season long so make sure you keep an eye out. If you're looking to get into some swag for yourself, just check out the site and let me know your thoughts and what you find! Or, of course, you could just keep following along throughout fall to shop some of my favorites in my image shops linked at the end of my daily posts!

Downtown Vibes

Find ways to occupy your time in Los Angeles is a lot different than my usual routine back in NYC. It's all about taking time to acclimate to the slowed down vibes, soaking up some sun, and exploring spots on your 'to-visit' list. While it might take longer to get from point-A to point-B, it's always worth the traffic and L.A. is quickly gaining on my New Yorker standards.

I've been getting into the DTLA vibes lately... maybe because it's the perfect mix between the 'concrete jungle' and the West Coast. With tons of spots like museums, historic buildings, and some photoshoot worthy architecture and design, I would definitely consider living down here if it wasn't so detached from where I've come to call home in West Hollywood. I mean just look at this chrome finished location that I discovered while visiting The Broad Museum across the street!

I took full advantage of grabbing some pretty sick shots while taking a break between exhibits at the museum. Just another reason to love L.A... It's ALWAYS leather jacket kinda weather! This one from The Kooples is one of those pieces that you invest in and wear for years. With a bit of a slimmer cut, it just helps with those lighter layer kind of days. Besides being stuck to DTLA, I've fallen into the laid back style that most SoCal residents flaunt so casually. Distressed denim, canvas sneakersgraphic tees, and some killer accessories are styles that have, and always will be, a style that embodies the lifestyle of those of us living in / trying to fit into Los Angeles. Everything, of course, is available at East Dane and shopable with the below images. Check them out and get into these West Coast vibes!

Rules to Move You

Now going on my third season partnering with one of my go-to shoe brands, Rockport, I can't be more excited to do it while here in Los Angeles. With a feeling of always being on the move and never in one spot for too long, I instantly related to the brand's new campaign, Made for Movers. Now hitting my one month mark on the West Coast, I still can't believe that this is where life and work has taken me... the only constant is, no matter where I'm taking my next steps, I want to not only look good but feel good.

No matter if I'm in the 'city of walking' or the 'city of angels', comfort is key to ensure I make it through my day. While I always love the beautiful design that has made Rockport a staple in footwear, it's their comfort technology that keeps me hooked on the brand. With truTech™sport technology that's meant to cushion even the heaviest of feet, Rockport keeps me moving on even the busiest of days.

To kick off this seasons collaboration, I'm sportin' these Classic Move Hanging Tassel Loafers... Without a doubt, my go-to's for trekking the city, taking a stroll, and especially for traveling the globe. A good pair of loafers are essential, no matter your lifestyle though. I invest in a great pair just about every season and this season is no different. They easily transition for just about any casual or formal style, so they are definitely a necessity for my life, especially when I travel.

My travels are usually spur of the moment so having some easy go-to's are vital... Not to mention being able to pack smart for those weekend travels. It really isn't too hard to pack for a weekend trip though. It's all about thinking it through and following some easy to follow rules that I live by.

Plan Your Trip• If you try to be as organized as I am then this one is the easiest trick of the trade. I like to lay all of my clothes out neatly, so I know all of my options for the trip. It's a great way to pack exactly what you need without forgetting the essentials.

Create a Base• I like to put my dopp kit on the bottom of my duffel to help create some shape at the bottom of the bag. This will help to keep your clothes in place and free of wrinkles when you reach your destination.

Wrinkle Free• I like to roll all my tees to not only save lots of space but also keep those wrinkles away. You can even roll up shorts, jeans, and chinos if you're feeling really ambitious.

Keep it Shady• Sunglasses are essential when traveling. At the very least, they can help to upgrade your comfy airport style, so get a cool pair that fits every look you pack. These Garrett Leight California Optical Sunglasses shown above are some of my favorites when traveling to any beach destination.

Space Saver• If you're like me, no matter how long the trip is you always run out of space when packing your bags. To help not leave any wasted space, I like to roll my underwear and socks and stuff them into my shoes. This also helps to keep the shape of your good shoes... Which you should always pack at least one nice pair for any trip since you just never know what might come up! Just another reason why I love my new Rockport Classic Move Hanging Tassel Loafers. Like I said before, they're easily transitional no matter the occasion!

Take Your Tunes• A good pair of headphones are essential when making moves. No matter if you're heading to the gym, a day trekking your city for errands, and especially while traveling, it's just about impossible to get through a day without some of your jams. Aedele Headphones is my accessory of choice at the moment. They are the perfect travel companion and just so happen to match my leathers perfectly!

Strut it Out• If all else fails, strut. Invest wisely no matter if it's your style or your comfort, you'll be glad you did when making moves!

I love being a mover and like to keep the 'on-the-go' mindset, so having a brand like Rockport to rely on really helps to keep up with the lifestyle. The last thing I ever have to worry about now is comfort. While my collection of Rockport styles continues to grow, the one thing that stays true through each new pair is the reliable comfort each sole supports. Don't just take my ongoing word for it... Get into a pair just in time for fall!

Hippy Vibes

Ok so tie-dye has been around for just about ever [AKA the mid-sixties] and while I haven't been alive quite that long, I've been obsessed with the hippy vibes ever since I could remember. I don't wear many bold patterns but a cool dyed tee is the perfect layer to add a little color to a monochrome look. I scooped up this Saint Laurent tee [on sale of course!] just in time for last week's Beyonce concert... Which, if you follow along on snapchat - @trendstyled, then you got to see it all go down from a last minute upgraded view to side stage. Soooo, you should definitely be following me on snapchat!!

Since you can never have too many statement tees, I put together a few of my current favorites that I've discovered from some of my favorite online shops. Just click through the below and get into some tie-dye goodness for yourself!

I've been obsessed with Thai food since visiting Thailand last summer and with as little as I like cooking, I'm always up for whipping up something super easy and without too much cleanup after. With a few tweaks, it can even be healthy and the perfect source of protein. Just follow the short few steps and enjoy!

Ingredients:
Chicken breast
2 tbsp of oyster sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
5 cloves garlic, minced
Broccoli
Bellpeppers
Basil
1 serrano chile
Olive oil
Quinoa [healthy substitute instead of rice]

Directions:
Begin cooking quinoa since this takes the longest
In a large wok, cook chicken breasts that have been diced into squares
Add oyster sauce, light soy, basil, and olive to cooking chicken
Toss in chopped vegetables
Mix well so everything is sauced evenly
Use a large lid to cover while cooking so vegetables get steamed nicely
Serve and enjoy... With a cold Chang Beer of course!

If you love Thai food as much as I do, then don't miss the Chang Sensory Trails Event this Friday, September 23rd at The Victorian in Santa Monica, California. There's going to be tons of great food, music, and of course some cold Chang Beer. Admission is free and I'll be there, so you don't want to miss it! Make sure to hit up some of the participating restaurants before Friday's event to earn stamps on the Sensory Trails Passport for a chance to win a seat at Chef Jet Tila's VIP Chef's Table at the event. More details HERE.

Want to become a Chang Ambassador and win a trip to Thailand + $3000 spending cash?! Duh, so do I! Just upload a photo of the new Chang bottle to Instagram tagging @ChangBeerUSA, #ChangAmbassador, and #Contest for your chance! Just hurry, submissions end September 30th!

If you aren't quite in the market for a backpack, Zappos has a huge array of accessories from COACH so check them all out and get stocked with some perfect leathers for fall. Sunday Situations

I love Sundays. It's the one day of the week where you can stay in your pajamas until it's time for dinner without any guilt. I always make sure to use this day to recharge, enjoy some solo time, and, of course, surround myself with some of my favorite things...

I've been obsessed with Le Labo Fragrances since moving to New York City over six years ago. I discovered the brand while exploring my neighborhood in Nolita where they have a store. The scent hits you a block away so you can't help but follow the aroma until you find where they are creating bottles of what are now my favorite scents... My current scent of choice, Santal 33. It's the perfect little bottle that gets me into a fall, cozy mood. Even better that it's personalized just for me! If you're near a store, definitely take some time and check it out. The scents are amazing but the design of each unique store will stop you in your tracks!

Sauras Co. is an accessories brand that I created just about a year ago and currently includes bracelets and necklaces created using vintage beads from all over the world. Each piece is hand-beaded in the US and is the perfect accessory that'll update your wrist game. Check out the entire collection over at Sauras Co. where you can get 20% off your first order using code SUMMERCLEAN

Something used as often as a wallet definitely needs seasonal changes and really, why wouldn't you want this guy from COACH?!

With baseball inspired stitching, Sport Calf leather, and a minimalist appeal, this card case wallet was a no brainer for me while I was shopping through Zappos over the weekend. With fast and free shipping, I'm already sporting my new wallet just a few days after ordering. Obviously now hooked to Zappos, I'm collaborating again with the one stop shop for this weeks fall upgrade with Steve Madden and Joe's Jeans. There's nothing like a good pair of kicks to jump start the new season and there's nothing more classic than white sneakers. These Steve Madden Hester sneakers are above the basics though. With perforated details and a contrasted heel, these guys are a sportier update that I'll be wearing all season. Paired down with Joe's Jeans Brixton Straight + Narrow Stevenson Colors pants and I've got the perfect classic look for this perfect Cali fall weather. Nope... Not missing that NYC chill at all!

This week, I hosted an event with my friends at Scotch and Soda here in Los Angeles for the launch of their latest fall / winter collection. I, of course, shopped some of the pieces and found some pretty amazing styles that I'll be showing off all season long. While it may still be hot as hell here in LA, I couldn't help but get into Scotch and Soda's cozy, fall vibes. With great knits, outerwear, chinos, and denim, I got stocked and ready for those cooler nights ahead. If you couldn't make it last night, just click [and shop] through the images below to see some of my favorites from the brand!

Parisian Escape

I can't believe it's already been a month since visiting Paris for the first time. Time has flown by and I can't help but reminisce about the endless blocks I walked and discovered, the non-stop wine, gorging on cheese at cafes, and, of course, dressing like a local. While it is definitely a lot colder in Paris than here in LA, I knew I had to take full advantage of fall layers and darker colors I've missed while I was living in NYC.

Monsieur Lacenaire is a Parisian brand I discovered on East Dane while shopping for the trip. This knit, made from 100% wool, is a collaboration Lacenaire did with Japanese brand White Mountaineering Native and is without a doubt my favorite new sweater for the chilly escape. With a Southewestern inspired print and a more relaxed fit, it was the perfect piece to get me through my day trekking the Parisian streets. Paired down with some perfectly fitting Rag and Bone denim and some comfy slip-ons from Greats Brand, and I was feeling very Parisian... hot coffee in hand and all!

If you haven't visited Sedona already then put it on your map right this second! It's been just about two weeks since visiting the canyon town also known as 'The Vortex' and I'm still dreaming of that spiritual destination. My friends at L'Auberge de Sedona invited a bunch of us bloggers out for a weekend full of calming our minds, sleeping in luxury cabins, and eating some amazing food. When you go to Sedona, L'Auberge is the only place to stay!

I kept it pretty comfortable while at the property. While it was beautiful and sunny all day, there was still that perfect mountain chill in the air which I loved! Chinos are pretty universal but this fall I'm investing in knit tees for a little extra warmth. This one from Fanmail - which I discovered on Mr. Porter - is one of my favorite basics right now but click through below to get into some of your own cozy favorites just like me!

SoCal Winter Style

It's not that hard to fall in love with Los Angeles with winter weather like this. As much as I do miss NYC at times, being able to wear a tee out in the middle of November is pretty damn amazing. Even my hometown of Dallas, Texas is colder than what SoCal calls 'winter' weather... and I'm not mad about it one bit!

When originally moving here, I thought it would just be for a few months to complete a project I came here for. I was so wrong! Besides the weather being amazing, the laid-back lifestyle is exactly what I needed after a busy six years in New York. Never one to go too dapper, a great pair of pants can definitely kick some style into your daily outfits no matter how laid-back your esthetic is. These from Scotch and Soda are my current fall favorites. With a monochrome check print, they can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

Since I'll be running around finishing up those last minute Thanksgiving errands today, I went a bit more casual with a lightweight tee, some suede Soludos espadrilles, and my current go-to watch brand Triwa for the wristwear. Not a bad hump day when you're dressed like this! Scroll and click through my style below to get into some for yourself!

It's that time of year again - ya know, when you tell yourself you're going to start Christmas shopping this week so you aren't scrambling on Christmas Eve to get that last minute shopping done but just know you won't! - which means it's time to start making that list and checking it twice! While my family is pretty small, it can still be hard to find gifts for everyone. If your friends and family are as picky as mine, just shop by my rule... accessories for all!

Luckily, my friends at Triwa just restocked my wristwear just in time for my Christmas list researching. I've been a fan of the brand for years. It's one of those reliable brands you know won't be too flashy but will still have people asking where you got it. I've been obsessed with their new metal bracelets [brass color shown on my wrist] and this Pine Falken watch model has been living on my wrist since I got him a week ago. Made with Swedish leather, champagne gold metal, and a deep green face, it's a classic piece that goes with just about every style. I've been so excited to share this weeks partnership with lululemon! Especially ever since moving to Los Angeles - AKA the land of the healthy and active - I've always loved workin on my fitness so getting into '#TheSweatLife' was a no brainer! With everything you need for a great workout, lululemon has been my go-to when dressing for a sweat session. No matter your workout of choice, this is a one stop shop for all things looking good and feeling better!

While it may always be sunny in L.A., it went for some lighter gear to get me through my morning run. While lululemon offers different short lengths, I went for these 5" Surge Shorts that are perfect for my high intensity runs. Plus with a small zip pocket on the bum, it makes it easy to carry the necessities like keys and some cash for those very L.A. breakfasts - an açaí bowl!
